Gemmell's Garden Centre, a family operated business, was founded in 1932. Our original sales booth is still located in our perennial sales area. We operate 24 greenhouses where we grow our famous Chubbi-Tub Perennials, annuals, hanging baskets and containers for our wholesale and retail customers across the province.

Our staff is knowledgeable, friendly and available to advise you on all of your gardening needs, indoor or out.

Our mail-outs and the Your Garden E-mail Update keep you informed and current with gardening tips and advice, upcoming events and workshops, special features, and promotions.

We are pleased to announce a new link on our Website, Your Garden, which will become your resource centre for gardening tips and tricks, answers to frequently asked gardening questions, and garden design ideas.

Workshops are offered throughout the year, covering diverse topics such as water gardening, garden design, pruning techniques, growing herbs, container gardening and our very popular create your own ‘Victorian Basket’ workshop. They are interactive, informative and fun.

Our retail store and gift shop is open seven days a week from mid-March to November 30th featuring tropical plants and cacti, specialty products for plant care, unique containers and creative gift ideas. In season, choose from our large selection of annuals, perennials, trees and shrubs, vegetables, patio planters, beautiful hanging baskets, roses, bulbs and seeds and more!

We are located about 3 kilometres north of Smiths Falls on the east side of Highway 15 North.
