About Our Garden Centres
For almost 90 years, Gemmell's Garden Centre has been doing its part to cultivate a love of plants and gardening in the residents of Smiths Falls, Brockville, and the Ottawa Valley.
Family Owned Since 1932
Rob Gemmell | Head Honcho
Born into the greenhouse business, Rob is now the head honcho here at Gemmell’s. On any given day he can be found doing any one of the numerous tasks required to keep an operation like this growing. Whether in the office, on the retail floor, working behind the scenes in the greenhouses and nursery or fixing things in the shop, Rob is our go to guy when you need any problem solved.
Liz Gemmell | Horticulture Guru
Head horticulture guru at Gemmell’s, Liz designs all the beautiful Victorian Basket combinations & custom plantings. She is an amazing teacher, sharing her knowledge at all of our seasonal workshops. Liz has had her hands in the dirt here at the Gemmell’s since the 70’s.
My first business venture was when I was 12 yrs old. I grew 4000 gladiolas one summer and sold them for 10 cents apiece to a flower shop.
In 2017, We Celebrated Our 85th Year!
Since 1932, Gemmell’s Garden Centre has had a passion for growing locally; we love our plants and strive to stay ahead of the trends, bringing our customers the latest and greatest introductions.
